Week #28

Hey everybody! I hope this week was a great week for you all and I
hope everything has been going well for you and your families!

This week was a great week for us. Tuesday we had transfers and picked
up our 3rd missionary in our companionship, Elder DeMott. We then
scrambled to figure out how to fit 3 Elders in our one bedroom
apartment. Solution? Elder Moen is sleeping in his walk-in closet! His
mattress surprisingly fits so that's where he is now!

We had a great time with a friend of mine from my last area this week
as well. He took us to lunch and helped us get some things done and
things we needed since we now have a 3rd Elder, and it was great to
see him again.

On Saturday we had the wonderful privilege and opportunity to hear
from one of our beloved Apostles, President Russell M. Nelson. The
Spirit was very strong and I learned a lot from him. We took a picture
as a mission and then we each got to shake his hand. Just being in his
presence was a testament to me that he truly is an Apostle called of
God.

My spiritual thought this week comes from the Doctrine and Covenants,
Chapter 9, verses 7-8. It reads.
"7 Behold, you have not understood; you have supposed that I would
give it unto you, when you took no thought save it was to ask me.

8 But, behold, I say unto you, that you must study it out in your
mind; then you must ask me if it be right, and if it is right I will
cause that your bosom shall burn within you; therefore, you shall feel
that it is right."
These verses stuck out to me in my studies this week. We can ask God
for things all we want when we pray, but it is when we act in faith,
study diligently and seek further knowledge, that the Lord will bring
us answers to prayers in our minds and in our hearts. I know this to
be true Brothers and Sisters. We have a loving Father in Heaven who
does hear and answer our prayers. I know without a shadow of a doubt
that He does. As we show our love and faith in our Heavenly Father and
in our Savior Jesus Christ, we will receive help from on high and we
will be blessed. I know our Savior lives. He atoned for our sins and
made it possible to return to live in Heaven again someday and be with
our families for time and eternity. This Gospel is the true word of
God. It was brought forth to us in this last dispensation by the power
of God, through the Prophet Joseph Smith. Joseph Smith was and is a
prophet of God. The Book of Mormon is the word of God. As we study it
and ask sincerely of its truthfulness, the Spirit will touch our
hearts and minds and let us know that the Book of Mormon is true. I
say these things in the name of our Savior, Jesus Christ, amen.

I hope y'all have a fantastic week this week! It is so good to hear
from you! Until next week!

Elder Houssian
